Screening of Desaparecidos and ¿Dónde están?

2015 is the Year of Mexico in the UK and the Glasgow Latin American Research Network (GLARN) present a documentary (Desaparecidos) and short film (¿Dónde están?) that respond to Human Rights abuses in Mexico.

The films will be screened in Andrew Stewart Cinema, Gilmorehill Halls, University of Glasgow at 5.15 on Wednesday 18th November.

Both films explore the disappearance of 43 Mexican students from the rural teacher’s college of Ayotzinapa on the 26th of September 2014. Carla Novi, director of Desparecidos is a Mexican artist based in Glasgow and hopes to show her film in Mexico soon. Jan Nimmo is a Glasgow based artist whose images of the disappeared students have been shared widely on social media and have been used by the families of the disappeared. The films will be followed by Q&A with both directors.
